In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a 23-year-old woman named Lakshmi was kidnapped and murdered, with her body later found in a pothole on Faizullahpur Road. The abduction occurred on Sunday evening, July 14, while Lakshmi was out shopping with her cousin Sapna. According to Lakshmi's family, a couple identified as Monu Gupta and his wife stopped the scooter Lakshmi and Sapna were riding, abducted Lakshmi, and drove away. Sapna rushed home to inform the family, who immediately filed a missing person's report with the Hafizganj police station. Lakshmi's body was discovered twelve hours later, on the morning of July 15.
Police have confirmed that Lakshmi was murdered with a sharp weapon, and an investigation into the case is underway. The disturbing visuals of Lakshmi's grieving family members have surfaced on social media, drawing widespread attention to the incident. The accused couple, reportedly residents of Nawabganj, are currently being sought by the police. All individuals connected to Lakshmi are being questioned to determine the motive behind the crime.
